Digital Illustration | 2026

Inspired by Henry Clive's Mermaid with Pearl (1939), this hand drawn digital illustration was created on an iPad Air using an Apple Pencil and the Sketchbook app.

Art Nouveau is one of many artistic influences that continues to inspire my work, particularly its flowing lines, organic forms, and sense of whimsy. While honoring Clive's original composition, I reimagined the scene through a more personal lens. The solitary mermaid becomes twins, a nod to my astrological sign, Gemini, and to the idea that creativity often exists as a conversation between two selves: reflection and reality, imagination and memory.

This illustration is being developed as the cover artwork for an original EP currently in progress. The mirrored composition extends beyond a single image to form both the front and back cover of the album, allowing the two figures to face one another across the complete package like opposite pages of the same story.
